What Is It That Makes the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner So Special?

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner. All opinions are 100% mine.

Ever since I won the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner in a giveaway, I have been singing its praises.

Up until this year when I switched to my Bullet Journal, I have been using the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner faithfully and loving it.

I know many of you have come to count on these reminders to snag your daily planner while it’s on sale! So, if you’re here for a nice discount, then go ahead and scroll to the bottom. 🙂

If this is your first time hearing about the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner, then I suggest checking out this post where I share in detail how I’ve used my Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner in the past.

Today, I want to share with you some additional thoughts I have on the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner.

I want to answer the following three questions because they are the questions I asked myself before recommending this planner to you (again):

  • What is it that makes the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner so special?
  • What is it about the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner that keeps me coming back year-after-year?
  • What is it that makes me recommend it so faithfully even when I no longer use it?

What is it that makes the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner so special?

First, what makes this daily planner so special? What makes it stand out from, say, the daily planner I can pick up at my local box store for the same price?

Scripture Encouragement

Who doesn’t love a little extra scripture encouragement in their lives?

The Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner is created by a sweet Christian woman who has a heart for encouraging homemaker’s with God’s Word.

tasks list

Even in the mundane everyday moments of life, like planning, an extra reminder of God’s promises and faithfulness never hurts, right?

In the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner, you will find scripture encouragement throughout each of the pages and could even purpose to memorize the verse for each week as an added bonus. There is a new verse of encouragement right below the task list of each week.

Simple, No-Fuss Design

One of the main things that I love about this daily planner is how simple and completely uncomplicated it is.

When we asked Sue why she designed her planner this way, she said:

“The reason it’s designed this way is because a Homemaker’s Life is unpredictable. On the other hand, Homemaking is an occupation that requires careful planning and organization.”

The Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner is a tool, not a distraction from your day-to-day needs. It’s not something else you have to make “Pinterest-perfect.”

It’s designed for the no-fuss homemaker who just wants to do her job well without having to make sure she filled out her planner perfectly.

Easy to Use “At a Glance”

weekly planning
I love that the weekly to-do list and the daily to-do lists are all viewable from one spread.

This spread reminds me a lot of what I create for myself in my Bullet Journal, and my brain is already spinning on how I can use this planner as my bullet journal … hmmm … but I digress.

Because the planner is spiral bound, it lays open flat and you can easily see at a glance your weekly and daily to do lists. I love this!

Plus it has space to write in the day’s menu plan so all of your planning is in one spot.

Shopping Lists

I love this section of the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner. It might be absolute favorite section because it’s all about efficiency and practicality.

I don’t know about you, but I hate writing my shopping lists on notebook paper or some other piece of paper. It seems like such a waste of paper.

The shopping lists can be found toward the back of the planner and each list is perforated for you to be able to easily tear it off and take with you to the store. No more wasted paper! It’s just the right size to tuck in my pocket and head out. Oh, glory!

Plus it stays in your planner until you’re ready to shop, so you can keep your running grocery list right there with you in your daily planner. Again … oh, glory!

There is more about the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner that I love, but these are the highlights. You can see my full list of loves in this post.

What Is It That Makes the Homemaker's Friend Daily Planner So Special?_edited-1

What is it about the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner that keeps me coming back year-after-year?

Honestly? Sue Hooley. I’ve fallen in love with this woman (in a very sisterly-Christian way of course!). Her heart for her ministry and for homemaker’s like me just completely swallows me up. Her sincerity and transparency is compelling.

Also, the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner is just flat out well-made. Like I said, it’s simple and no-fuss. It’s small enough to throw in my bag while not so small I have to strain my eyes or adjust my handwriting size to fit in all I need to accomplish each day.

Finally, when faced with where to put my dollars, I would choose to support a fellow-mom and entrepreneur any day of the week. Especially when said entrepreneur is also spreading God’s love by implanting His word into our daily planners to encourage us week-in and week-out. You can’t get that at your local box store…

What is it that makes me recommend the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner so faithfully even when I no longer use it?

I’m a firm believer in no-one-size-fits-all planning packages. The Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner is one of many ways we can be intentional with our planning as women. I’ve used this planner for over two years and it has served me well.

Just this year, I discovered the Bullet Journal which works with the way my brain thinks at this time. But I wasn’t kidding when I said that I’m beginning to wonder if I can’t just use what I learned from my Bullet Journal and implement it right into the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner. Writing this post set my brain to spinning again with possibilities and tweaks and opportunities.

So, I can recommend this daily planner even though I’m not using it at this current moment because I believe we’re all created differently. I can share about the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner because I believe it’s the perfect daily planner for the woman who wants a daily planner.

Period.

If you’re buying a daily planner from the local box store, then I see no reason you don’t switch to the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner.

I have learned that it’s useless to plan if you’re using a system that isn’t working for you.

If you’re looking for a daily planner, then let me offer you the Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner. It is simple, easy to use, and filled with scripture to encourage your mundane days, helping you to maximize fully the season of life you’ve found yourself in.

  1. I found my first one in a Christian bookstore by accident in 2010. There were a couple of things that (almost) made me not get another one the following year…until I found out that the design had been tweaked and the problems I had were gone! I’ve loved mine for the last five years.

I got the BuJo Bug a couple weeks ago, and I realized (again) what I was missing in my planner….pages for LONG lists, not just short dailies. I’m also falling rapidly out-of-love with all of the “extras” that seem rampant in the BuJo Universe, ’cause I like my planner simple, clean, and…well, what The Homemaker’s Friend is.

I’m sure there’s a happy compromise; we just need to find it. I have been using a small notebook for my BuJo and carrying both of them with me–fine if I have my “mommy purse”, not so much if it’s a smaller one. I’m also giving a couple of my other journals the BuJo treatment too, which has made life easier in those areas. So there’s good and not-so-good…but I’m sure it’ll work itself out in the wash.

I don’t aim to give up my Homemaker’s Friend planner just yet thought…”if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” right?

  2. I just found you this morning and have been enjoying checking out your site. I like simple as well – no fuss, no muss with colors and stars and stuff, just something to keep me organized all in one place. I use a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 binder system right now, but like the idea of the Bullet Journal idea you shared as well. There is so much out there that it becomes overwhelming. Thank you for sharing such great ideas.
