January Monthly Goals Update

january goals updated

Goals are useless if you don’t do anything about them. I shared my January goals with you last month, so today I want to give an update.

Let me be the first to say that public accountability goes a long way! So thank you for letting me share my goals and updates!

January Goals Update

Memorize one Bible verse – I managed to memorize Isaiah 43:1. I shared a free printable with you at the beginning of the month. Isaiah 43:1 proved to be a helpful reminder as trials came and went this month. I am grateful to have this verse stored in my heart.

Complete one chapter on leadership study & review with Mark – This got pushed to the side this month … try again next month.

ski date with my hubby to check off one of my monthly goals

Plan one date night out with Mark – We didn’t get a date night per se, but we managed a date morning. I knocked off two of my monthly goals in one and spent one entire morning with Mark skiing.

Go ski one time – Mark and I went skiing together for the first time in four years. It was a total blast. I was surprised by how much I really enjoyed myself!

Begin reading one book together as a couple – We read Crazy Busy by Kevin DeYoung together this month. We tend to over pack our schedules and are often “crazy busy.” This was a great book to read together and prompted many great discussions. I highly recommend this book!

Plan one date with Sam – This didn’t happen. I struggled to figure out how to make this work. Try again this month!

Complete one prayer walk through each room in my home – Oh what a rich time this was. I didn’t start in one room and walk all around my home praying in one fell swoop. I took time to pray through the rooms in my home as I entered them off and on throughout the month. It was an on-going prayer and sweet time with the Lord.

Complete two books from my reading list – I read several books this month, which I will share about soon, but I only managed to complete one book from my actual reading list.

What goals did you accomplish this month? I’d love to hear about them in the comments!

Thank you for sharing this. I often feel like a colossal failure if I don’t finish a goal. Thank you for reminding me we all just have to keep trying.

You are absolutely not a colossal failure! Just think of where you would be if you didn’t set any goals? I know you accomplish so much more because you are aiming at something.

Psalm 139:5 says, “You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.”

He is always with us – going before us, making a way. Coming behind us, covering in His grace where we fail. His hand is on you. You are His. You are not a failure!

Keep seeking Him and remember His grace covers you all the way around!

Way to go, Leigh Ann!! My goal was to re-organize my kids’ rooms and to get mine nice and clean too. We have reached an easier stage of life so I can finally transition out of survival mode. It’s amazing how much easier life gets in just a few months, because little bitties really change that quickly. And I’ve started running again, which has been pretty wonderful. I love hearing about your goals, so please keep sharing them!
