How to Make Bible Story Stones

I use Bible Story Stones with both my toddler and preschooler!

How to Make Bible Story Stones
Supplies:
- Stones
- Acrylic paint
- Paint brushes
- Modge podge
- Foam paint brush
What You Do:
First, take a walk with your toddler or preschooler and collect stones. You’re looking for stones that fit in your child’s hand relatively easily. You also want at least one side of the stone to be smooth.
Don’t forget to bring along a basket or bucket to collect the stones.
Then, let your child wash the stones and lay them out in the sun to dry. You could also let them dry inside during the cooler months.

Our Bible Story Stones:
- Rainbow
- Tent
- Star
- Boat
- Whale
- Tree
- Loaf of bread
- Fish
- Apple
- Water
- Flowers
- Sling shot
- Night sky
- Lightening bolt
- Sun
- Crown
- Rain clouds
- Stone tablet
- Fire
- Cross
- Snake
- Dessert (this wasn’t painted; it’s just the way the stone looks)
Let your paint dry. Then, put on two coats of modge podge to help seal the paint.
Once everything is dry, you can put your story stones in a basket to store.

This is a wonderful idea. I am so doing it in the thaw. ๐
Love this! Thinking of doing it as a take home at the end of the year for my preschool class! Could you tell me which stories your used for each stone so I can make up a paper for the parents?
Thanks!!
