From My Bookshelf to Yours: What I Read in November

Each month I enjoy sharing what books I read and how they affected me. You can see all my bookshelf lists here.

Here’s the list I read in November:

anne ortlund
Disciplines of the Heart: Tuning Your Inner Life to God – This is an old book. I found it at a used bookstore during one of our road trips. But the truths I read in this book are timeless and timely! I have not had a book get in my face like this in a long, long time. If you can find a copy of this book, I highly recommend it.

Unveiling Grace: The Story of How We Found Our Way out of the Mormon Church – Another great read that’s a little more recent in information than the book I read last month. This book was long and repetitive in spots, but another insightful read on a very close to home topic.

I Will: Nine Traits of the Outwardly Focused Christian – We read this together with our small group, and it facilitated a lot of good discussions. I don’t know that I fully recommend this book because it’s just too formula and dry for me, but I know many people who enjoyed this book. I think it could be a good launching pad for church discussion though.

  2. Your reading list inspires me so much Leigh Ann. I’m in the middle of a handful of books, but need to press on and finish them already! Thanks for always sharing your thoughts, even when you can’t wholeheartedly recommend a book.
