Brothers. Sweet, sweet brothers. I’m through the roof excited that we welcomed another little boy to our family. Boys are just sweet on their mamas. Yes they are dirty, rambunctious, and loud, but mamas get a sweetness shared with them that compares with nothing else.
Moms of boys, you know what I mean.
This moment captured – I never want to forget it.
“Timmy, who made you? God made you.”
Toddler boy proceeded to take our little guy through the first nine questions of the catechism straight from memory, straight from his heart. Sammy used a book he found as his Bible (all “big kid” books are Bibles to him). He recited words from the Bible from memory, sang Jesus loves me, and held Timmy’s hand to pray when he was done.
This mama was overjoyed and greatly encouraged – everyday grace.
You see, family devotions have been a struggle. It takes great effort to get through them, and it takes a lot of self control and will power for Mommy and Daddy to not throw their hands up in despair and say, “To heck with this idea!”
But moments like these remind us why we do family devotions.
We want our boys to know God and the truth of the Gospel.
We want them in turn to share this amazing truth with others!
Grace. Everyday grace.
Praise the Lord!
