I find these monthly checklists helpful in making sure I take care of important tasks around my home. I’m really looking forward to tackling this month’s list.
May Intentional Living Monthly Checklist
Review your mission statement
I’m a big proponent of developing a mission statement for your life. I’ve shared my mission statement before and taught you how to create a mission statement during our 5 days of How to Fill Up Your Life and Not Just Your Schedule series.<
I also provide information on how to develop a personal mission statement in my eBook, Live for Him.
If you don’t have a mission statement, I highly recommend creating one this month.
Set monthly goals
Going hand-in-hand with developing a mission statement, take some time this month to review your yearly goals. Then set some monthly goals to help you work toward achieving your goals for the year.

Determine books to read this month
I like to make a list of the books I want to read each month based on my yearly reading goals.
I talk a lot about books. Check out the following posts for book ideas to add to your list:

Update your budget
Take time this month to make any adjustments needed to keep you on track with your finances.
Declutter & organize your garage (or outdoor storage area)
I don’t know about your garage, but ours is the collector of all things throughout the winter. This month we’re going to spend some time cleaning out and getting organized in our garage.
Create a summer bucket list
We like to create a summer bucket list each year. Summer seems so short, and we’ve found making this list means we don’t let the summer month’s slip us by.
Create a welcoming front door
After a long winter, I like to give my front door a cheery look. I can’t wait to create my “welcome” door this year!
Put on your calendar one act of hospitality
We love hospitality. We try to plan one act of hospitality a month.
Make a plan for summer repairs
Summer is a great time to do some home maintenance.
We like to make a list of repairs so we can refer to it when we have spare Saturdays!
Clean outdoor furniture and play equipment
I love pulling out the patio furniture, kids slides, and summer toys. But they’ve been stored all winter.
Take some time to give them a good scrub!
Plant seeds in your vegetable garden
All that planning we’ve been doing? It’s time to put the plan into action! Yay!
Don’t have anywhere to plant a garden? Check out Apartment Gardening: A Practical Guide to Growing Vegetables in Small Spaces by Jami Balment! My husband and I did apartment gardening one year. It was so fun!
Plan an outdoor family activity
Choose an activity and put it on your calendar. Then make it happen!
