20 Minute Meals: Giving Weary Chefs Grace While Keeping Families Healthy Needs a Cover

One year ago, I created Intentional By Grace in order to build up and encourage women to walk out the Christian life intentionally. It’s about savoring the ordinary days, loving our husbands passionately, and providing our families a home that makes it impossible to not think about God.

In theory, these things sound wonderful, but sometimes, if you’re like me, you just want to know a practical, tangible way that you can serve your family and serve God. Insert the book I have been working on:

20 Minute Meals: Giving Weary Chefs Grace While Keeping Families Healthy

This book is an overflow of my heart to serve women who find themselves among spit up, laundry, and maybe even 9-5 jobs, who just want to feed their families simple, nutritious foods without spending a whole lot of time in the kitchen. My book consists of recipes, meal plans, and grocery lists made up of just 20 minute meals! There are no canned soups, boxed mac-n-cheese, or microwave usage within the pages of this book. It’s made up of simple, real foods with ingredients that you can pronounce.

But before this book can become a reality, I have to finish it and get it off to the editor. Can you help motivate me to get.it.done.already? Will you help me choose the cover of my new book?

My amazing designer, Mindy, from The Purposed Heart worked with me tirelessly to narrow it down to these two options. We couldn’t choose, so I thought I’d ask you. Which cover would make you want to buy the book? Of course you’ll be buying it, right? ;)

The Only Homemade Bread I Can Make Successfully

I am a terrible baker. I mean really terrible. I mess-up no bake cookies. The man of my prayers loves to tease me about my abilities (and don’t even get him started on my confusion about garlic). However, I love to make our bread. It has taken me several trial and error attempts, but I finally found a bread that we absolutely love. To be honest, it’s the only bread that I make we will eat. The rest turn out like bricks …

Enjoy!

Easy Chicken on a Bed of Root Vegetables {Guest Post}

When asked what your favorite thing is about the cooler weather, everyone in my neck of the woods starts talking about football and pretty leaves, I generally pipe off with, “I love crock pots!” I get some pretty funny looks and the occasional polite giggle. But I don’t mind. While they slave away in the kitchen, I’ll leave my maid – Miss Crock Pot – to do all my work while I watch the snow fall outside.

This is one of my favorite recipes because it’s so incredibly simple, and yet, it’s full of all the goodness you would expect from a meal that’s been slaved over all day. Not to mention, it’s man friendly – meat and potatoes. The husband loves that.

I’m over at Stacy Makes Cents today. Come on over to see what recipe I’m raving about … {continue reading}.

By the way, Stacy Makes Cents should be added to your daily blog reading list. She’s funny, practical, and downright loveable. When I was walking through my season of mild depression, she was right there with me every step of the way – praying for me, texting me, emailing me, etc. multiple times a day! I am so grateful for her friendship.
