Intentional Conversations: How To Ensure You Don’t Forget God by Breakfast Time

Welcome back to another week of Intentional Conversations! Each week, I step out of my comfort zone, and step in front of the camera to talk with you face-to-face.

Today, I want to talk to you about how to ensure you don’t forget God by breakfast time. So many of us are faithful to rise in the morning to meet with God, but by breakfast we’ve already forgotten what the Lord was teaching us. For those of you in the Surrendered Marriage Challenge, you pray for your marriage, but by evening it’s a distant memory.

How can we ensure we are weaving the gospel into every area of our day if we don’t take time to remind ourselves of the most important truth? I’ve got a suggestion! Check out today’s Intentional Conversation, then let me know your thoughts in the comments.

So what do you think? Do you think hard stops would help you meditate on God’s word more faithfully throughout the day?

Intentional Conversations: God Does Not Attack Your Character

Welcome to another week of Intentional Conversations!

Do you ever feel the Lord calling you to stretch far outside your comfort zone, abilities, and maybe even desires to do something for Him? Right now, I’m working with a designer to create a go-to resource for you here at Intentional By Grace. Big things are in the works. God has given me a vision, along with several others, that I think you’ll really get excited about.

However, I feel completely incapable. I feel like God is asking too much of me. I’ve been plagued by fear and worry. I doubt God’s goodness and willingness to see me through this project. I’m so limited in my abilities, and I feel like my network is far too small to ever bring these plans to fruition. I’m sure I’m not alone in succumbing to doubt and fear. Join me for today’s Intentional Conversation?

Remember, friends, God does not attack our character. He has given us freedom through Christ.

For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. -2 Timothy 1:6-7

Also, I mentioned in the video a survey. Would you take a moment to fill out my survey, if you haven’t already? This will help me as I work on making Intentional By Grace a better place for community to grow and for your hearts to be encouraged. I appreciate your time more than you will ever know.

There is only one path to peace – genuine trust in the Lord. Place your problems and circumstances in His hands today, and choose to trust that whatever He does is good.

Intentional Conversations: Why A Surrendered Marriage Challenge

On Monday, I announced  A Surrendered Marriage Challenge, which is a challenge to pray for your marriage daily. The Surrendered Marriage Challenge exists to encourage one another and keep one another accountable as we work to develop the habit of praying scripture for our marriages.

We are fallen creatures. We cannot do this on our own. I’ve tried. It doesn’t work. For our marriages to reflect God’s purposes, it has to be God in us – working, molding, changing, conforming. This challenge exists because I want our marriages to represent Him so that more people want to know Him and serve Him. Be sure to register here so we can assign you to an accountability group and encourage you as you seek to make prayer for your marriage a daily habit. The challenge begins April 16th!

Also, be sure to check out Christian Mommy Blogger, Young Wife’s Guide, and Chasing Leadership for more reasons to join A Surrendered Marriage Challenge.

I have written several posts about praying for our marriages. I hope you’ll check them out for further encouragement.

Intentional Conversations: Praying Honest About Sex

Welcome back to another week of intentional conversations! Last week, I shared with you a FREE ebook – A Surrendered Marriage: A Guide to Intentional Conversations. I hope you’ve had a chance to check it out!

This week, I want to expand on the topic of sex which I introduced yesterday. As we have been building into our marriages the habit of prayer by working through the book 31 Days to Build a Better Spouse, I wanted to encourage you to add another prayer to your list – sex. Pray honest about your sex life. Maybe this video will encourage you!

{If you can’t see the video, then please click here: Praying Honest About Sex.}
P.S. Sorry I didn’t frame well. I hope it doesn’t distract too much. I’m still learning the video option on my camera.

God wants us to call on Him for help. Remember it’s not about praying perfectly. It’s about praying honest.

And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.
~Matthew 21:22 {ESV}
