About Stacy Makes Cents

Stacy is a stay-at-home mom to her first child, Annie (2) with another one on the way. After an "awakening" in March 2011, her family switched to a more natural, whole foods diet. She likes to blog about how to live on less than you make and how to eat good food while doing it. Living totally debt free, she and her husband share their passion by teaching others how to save money. At Stacy Makes Cents, you'll find information on how to save money in the kitchen, how to have fun with your kids, and how to be thrifty in all areas of life. Make sure to follow her on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with her daily antics.

This post is written by contributing writer, Stacy from Stacy Makes Cents. I’ll be honest, I’m not a freezer cook at heart. I enjoy my daily time in the kitchen, making meals and cleaning up afterwards. I’m a rare breed, I swim upstream, I argue with fence posts (or at least my Daddy says so). My husband has been giving people financial counseling for years and one thing that repeatedly comes up is the topic of stay-at-home-moms. “I would love to stay at home with my kids all day, but it just wouldn’t work out. We have too much debt. We can’t pay the bills if I don’t go to work.” It’s a sad … [Read more...]

5 Ideas for a Staycation Vacation

Image by Krystal International Vacation Club

There are those people who hold the belief that being on “vacation” from work means that they must leave their home and go somewhere…anywhere. And then there’s me – Cheapo Stacy. When I’m on vacation, I’d rather stay at home. When my husband is on vacation, I’d rather him stay at home. For some reason, vacations don’t relax me – they drain me. I always need a vacation from my … [Read more...]
