Tomorrow, Nikki and I leave for Harrisburg, PA to join hundreds of other women in seeking God’s will for our blogs at the Allume Conference. Today, my hubby is hacking our blog, obviously with my help, as a sort of send off for us. Enjoy!

Almost 2 years ago now, my extremely gifted wife wanted to embark on this blogging thing in a real way. Not just the family update blog, but the kind where she could share all that God was teaching her about being a wife, mother, disciple of Christ, and all things intentional in life. It became a creative outlet and journal of sorts at first, but I could have never imagined that it would be where it is today.
I am amazed by Leigh Ann’s business acumen, ability to learn new things like writing code and designing, and her leadership and vision to partner with other amazing women (like Nikki) to reach ladies all over the world with the Gospel, and the challenge to live a life with intentionality. Not only is it a challenge, but her blog is an encouragement and a testimony that following your heart and God’s prompting for your life is full of fruit and great blessings.
I remember last year when Relevant (now Allume) was happening and Leigh Ann was talking about it – how she wanted to be there the next year. I am thankful that we are now in a situation where God has provided the opportunity and the means for her to go, and I am looking forward to hearing how God uses this weekend and the relationships she built to further her vision for her blogs and for her life as she seeks to do God’s work.
Thanks to everyone who has worked so hard to make this conference happen. The potential influence the group of women that will be there have, is more than most people will ever comprehend. I pray that everyone leaves encouraged, enlightened and with many lasting relationships!

I love seeing how supportive you are of your wife! We are just at the beginning of my journey of trying on the whole blogging thing “for real,” and my husband is working on it too. It’s hard when you give up the paying work (even if it is just occasional) for God’s work.

Keep your priorities as God has given them to you, and seek him first along the way, and I truly believe He will bless what you are doing abundantly. I have to say that one of the greatest things I have learned watching Leigh Ann over the past 2 years is that there will be hard times that you just don’t want to keep going, and that is when you will have to remember why you are doing it (for God) and rely on His strength to sustain you. Its best to just remain in him in the first place though! (John 15:4). May God bless you in all your endeavors.
