We always spend the week of the 4th of July at the beach vacationing with my in-loves. Though I enjoy my time relaxing and eating a whole bunch of food, I sometimes day dream about having a really festive 4th of July party with neighborhood friends. Not that we really have neighborhood friends yet since we decided to uproot our lives and move 1,500 miles across the country, but that’s neither here nor there.
I love theme parties, and I love hospitality. I especially love the details of hospitality. Since I won’t be doing this myself, I thought I’d live vicariously, and plan a pretend virtual 4th of July party by consulting my favorite friend, Pinterest. You’re invited, okay?
The Food

We will have my Best Homemade Hamburgers and Homemade Hamburger Buns from Stacy Makes Cents. I love the little pinwheels on top.

Watermelon Feta Flag looks incredibly yummy and would no doubt be at my party along with this really easy, yummy Red, White, and Blue Fruit salad from Quick and Easy, Cheap and Healthy.

For dessert, I’d totally piggy back off of Quick and Easy, Cheap and Healthy again with this healthy Red White and Blue Jello!

This festive trifle looks really yummy, especially since I have a lot of grain-free friends.

The Decorations

I would definitely go with a bandana theme. Bandanas scream summer and remind me so much of childhood summer camp. I’m a huge fan of twine so the silverware would definitely be wrapped just like this.

As an Army sister, this one really hits home. I love this simple decoration to remind people why we have our freedom in this country.
The Activities
We’d celebrate and beat the heat with one big huge water balloon fight.
My 4th of July party sounds like so much fun, doesn’t it? I thought so too. Are you coming?
What are your plans for the 4th of July?

Thanks for inviting me to the party – I had fun! I hope everyone enjoyed my fruit salad and jello
Excellent! I’m going to make some today for our bike ride/picnic! The fruit salad that is. The jello would be a little more interesting to carry along.
Thanks for coming, Anne!
That was fun!! Everything looked yummy and fun! Have a good time at the beach!
I think you can be in charge of Wednesday night dinner at the beach!!!!
